Lake City Star Kerns Iel Mvp
Lake City senior point guard Jennifer Kerns has been named the Inland Empire League’s most valuable player.
Kerns was awarded the honor in a vote of the league’s coaches. The coaches couldn’t vote for their own players.
Joining Kerns on the first team are: teammate Melissa Dodge, senior; Heidi Umthun, Post Falls, junior; Alli Nieman, Sandpoint, junior, last year’s MVP; and Andrea Gomez, Lewiston, junior.
Players named to the second team were: Jill Pederson, Coeur d’Alene, junior; Nicole Nipp, Lake City, senior; Ann Shepard, Post Falls, senior; Laura Bloom, Lewiston, sophomore; Tanya Allmaras, Sandpoint, junior.
Bloom and Lake City freshman Lindsay Herbert shared newcomer of the year honor.
