Hospital Workshop Teaches You To Develop Spiritual Health

Holy Family Hospital Women’s Health Center will sponsor a free spiritual well-being workshop, “Journey into the Heart,” Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Health Education Center.

The workshop, led by Richard Spinal, director of pastoral care at Holy Family Hospital, and his wife, Rita Spinal, a pastoral counselor, will allow participants to learn more about how spirituality is included in overall well-being and how to develop the spiritual aspects of their lives. Topics will include how to nourish one’s self with quiet reflection and how aspirations empower, sustain and challenge.

Pre-register by calling 482-2477. The program will be held in the basement level of the hospital, N5633 Lidgerwood.

Heart-healthy habits

A physical therapist, pharmacist and dietitians will discuss the fundamentals of heart-healthy nutrition and exercise in “Recipe for a Healthier Heart” next Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Valley Hospital and Medical Center, E12606 Mission.

The program is free; a healthy, low-fat lunch will be available for $4. For registration and information, call 624-7770.

Lupus exercises

Mary Ann Wilson, a registered nurse and host of public television’s “Sit and Be Fit,” will demonstrate effective exercises for people with lupus in a free program this Friday at 1 p.m. at the Lindaman Center, W315 Mission.
