On The Record Highlights From The Past Week In The Idaho Legislature.

Votes Here are some of the votes cast by

North Idaho’s legislators this past week:

Right to work: SB1023, which would extend the Right to Work Law to all public employment, including state employment, passed the Senate by a vote of 21-14.

Voting for the bill were Sens. Clyde Boatright, R-Rathdrum; and Gordon Crow, R-Hayden. Voting against were Sens. Marguerite McLaughlin, D-Orofino; Tim Tucker, D-Porthill; and Mary Lou Reed, D-Coeur d’Alene.

More tax breaks: A bill giving tax deductions for donations of technological equipment to public colleges passed the House 58-10, and now heads to the Senate. Voting in favor were Republicans Don Pischner, Wayne Meyer and bill sponsor Hilde Kellogg, along with Democrats Charles Cuddy, June Judd, Carol Pietsch and Marvin Vandenberg. Voting against were Republicans Jeff Alltus and Tom Dorr and Democrat Jim Stoicheff.

No limits: Rep. Jim Stoicheff’s attempt to limit campaign contributions, HB 95, was defeated in the House State Affairs Committee on a 10-10 tie. Voting in favor of the bill were Republican Jeff Alltus and Democrats Marvin Vandenberg and June Judd. Republican Tom Dorr voted against it.
