Abc To Animate `Dumb, Dumber’

Translating movies to prime-time series hasn’t worked very well in the past, but it has had good results with the kiddies. Like ABC’s new animated version of “Free Willy,” a popular spinoff of the film.

Now the network’s at it again with the announcement that next fall it’s launching an animated take on “Dumb and Dumber,” the film starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels.

Also new to the ABC kids lineup in the fall will be “Madeline,” an animated series based on children’s books by Ludwig Bemelmans, and “What-a-Mess,” an animated series about a scruffy Afghan puppy.
