At a glance

Chiefs are three players short tonight in the toughest building in the league. Captain Kevin Sawyer serves the second game of his three-game suspension. Defenseman Adam Magarrell is out after picking up third game misconduct in a Sunday night loss to Prince Albert. Defenseman John Shockey is recovering from an infected hand. It could make for a long night in Kamloops. Magarrell will play when the two teams go at it Saturday night in Spokane. Shockey is a possibility for Saturday night. Chiefs, 15-4 in their last 19 games, could use him as they try to remain among the league’s hottest clubs. Kamloops, the No. 1-ranked junior hockey club in North America, is without critics. Goaltending, critics say, is not spectacular. That’s not much in the way of a knock but it’s about all you can dredge up against the Blazers. They’re loaded, and usually a treat to watch.
