Inmate Fails To Return To Geiger Corrections Center
A man serving time in jail for assault and domestic violence did not return to the Geiger Corrections Center from his work release job Saturday, officials reported.
Michael Schmedding, 31, who was serving a 360-day sentence, was supposed to report back to Geiger by 2:30 p.m.
Prison officials declared him a fugitive when he hadn’t returned by 5:30 p.m.
Authorities say Schmedding is white, about 5-foot7 and 180 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Further information, including where he worked, was not available Saturday.
