New Faces: Doreen Fox has joined Spokane Railway Credit Union as vice president of marketing. Fox previously worked at a credit union in Albuquerque, N.M.
Dennis Dipo has joined Cyrus O’Leary’s Pies Inc. as plant manager. Dipo previously worked as plant manager for Plush Pippin Pies in Kent, Wash. Dipo will be responsible for the start-up of a frozen pie division at Cyrus O’Leary’s Pies.
Dr. Gary Gularte has joined Holy Family Hospital’s Emergency Center staff. Gularte received his medical degree from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1991 and completed an emergency medicine residency at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md. He is accredited by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
Country Companies Spokane II Agency has named John Goodwin of Deer Park, Robert Spooner of Spokane and James Emerson of Medical Lake as agents. They will offer life, auto, home, ranch, and disability income insurance. Emerson received a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Eastern Washington University. Goodwin earned a degree in theater from Cornish College of Allied Arts, Seattle, while Spooner received a bachelor’s degree in business from Eastern Washington University.
Moving Up: Bob Sicilia has been promoted to Branch Manager with Spokane Railway Credit Union. Sicilia will be managing the Sullivan Branch.

Scott Martin most recently was a supervisor within the firm’s Tax Department. Martin specializes in closely-held businesses and non-profit organizations.
Herb Nelson joined the firm in 1993 as a supervisor at the Spokane Valley office. Nelson’s focus is closely-held businesses specializing in strategic planning in the areas of growth, tax and family successions.

Geoff Wild has been named president and director of Johnson Matthey’s Electronics Division, based in Spokane. Wild has been with Johnson Matthey since 1980, and most recently served as vice president and general manager of Johnson Matthey Electronics, now folded into the Electronics Division. Wild previously was based in Singapore as the general manager of electronics operations.
Jeff Edel has assumed the added responsibilities of business manager for the Photonic Materials Group at Johnson Matthey Electronics’ facility in Spokane. Edel will continue to serve as business manager of Crystar Research Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnson Matthey Electronics located in Victoria. Edel will oversee the company’s development of photonic materials, including light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and sapphire products, in both Spokane and Victoria. He joined Johnson Matthey in 1987 as a research and development engineer at Crystar.
Transactions: The law offices of Stephen K. Eugster and Stephen Haskell have merged to form Eugster Haskell Professional Service Corp. The firm will emphasize a litigation practice involving personal injury, municipal, corporate and family law matters.
Elected: The Spokane-Kootenai Real Estate Research Committee has elected the following officers for Tom Power, chairman; Gary Chilton, vice chairman; Dirk Scott, treasurer; Dale Strom, administrative officer. Newly elected Trustees include:

Kudos: The 1994 winner of the Starr Corp. Total Quality Management Award is Garco Building Systems. Garco was chosen by a vote of all Starr employees. The award is made to recognize quality of product, outstanding service levels, competitive pricing, excellent product support and overall quality-minded business practices.
Designations: Steven Strottmann, a staff appraiser for Washington Mutual Bank in Pullman, has been awarded the SRA designation by the Appraisal Institute. Recipients have taken several real estate appraisal courses, have received credit for 3,000 hours of residential appraisal experience and have written a narrative demonstration appraisal report on a one-to-four family property. A graduate of the University of Idaho, Strottmann has been an appraiser since 1984.
Two Town & Country Realty/Better Homes and Gardens employees - Mike Lyman and Chris Gagnon - have earned their Residential Marketing Master designation, the highest designation awarded by Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Service. Sales associates earn the designation by completing a rigorous training series providing advanced education in different aspects of real estate.
