Chris Randles scored all 23 of his points in the second half, including 16 in the fourth quarter, as the host Grizzlies (4-3, 7-4) knocked the Cougars (5-1, 6-2) into a first-place tie with Medical Lake.
Randles had two 3-pointers and shot 6 of 8 from the line in the fourth quarter. Scott Frederick of Newport held highscoring Jeremy Landram to eight points. Raymond Walden had seven rebounds and Nate Carrara five assists for Newport.
Greg Belzer scored 17 for Chewelah.
