Washington Faces Trojans Today
Amid a four-game losing streak, the University of Washington men’s basketball team went back to work Friday in preparation for a matchup with Southern California today at 3 p.m. in the Sports Arena.
Along with the usual game-film study, and shooting and running drills on days between games, UW coach Bob Bender added screening and rebounding segments and a weight-lifting session.
“We made it a little tougher than the players expected,” Bender said. “I think they have to understand that when we’re missing shots during certain periods of a game or allowing a run, that we need to be a little tougher. We tried to make that point in practice.”
The Huskies (0-3 Pac-10, 4-7 overall) are coming off a 75-57 loss Thursday to sixth-ranked UCLA.
