Carey Fiorino Receives Eagle Scout Award
Carey Fiorino, was recently awarded the rank of Eagle Scout by the Boy Scouts of America. He is a senior at North Central High School and a member of Troop 2, chartered to Audubon United Methodist Church.
He previously received the Order of the Arrow and as a senior patrol member, filled several leadership positions in his troop.
Fiorino’s Eagle project was the demolition and removal of outdated and unusable buildings at Camp Sekani before last summer’s Cub Scout Camp.
He is the son of Chuck and Gen Fiorino, Spokane.
Todd Hustrulid, Veradale, has been accepted into Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity, Idaho Colony, a national agricultural fraternity at the University of Idaho. A 1992 graduate of Central Valley High School, he is a junior majoring in Agricultural Engineering.
Cadet William Evans Jr. has been named to the Superintendent’s List at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., for the fall semester. To qualify, students must maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average and score in the top 20 percent of their squadron. Evans earned his Soaring Wings this summer after his solo flight in a glider. He is a sophomore majoring in space physics. A 1993 graduate of Lake Roosevelt High School, he is the son of Cathy and Moe Evans, Grand Coulee.
Cindy Dibble, Spokane, has been elected to the Society of Fellows, the honor society at St. Martin’s College, Lacey, Wash. She is a senior majoring in biology.
Mark Fey, a 1986 graduate of Ferris High School, has completed requirements for a Ph.D. in political science at the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena. He is now working on his postdoctoral research at the University of California at Irvine. Next fall, Fey will be an assistant professor of political science at Princeton University, N.J.
