Capers To Lead Panthers

Dom Capers, the Pittsburgh Steelers assistant who helped build one of the NFL’s toughest defenses, will be hired today as coach of the expansion Carolina Panthers.

The Panthers have scheduled a news conference in Charlotte at 10 a.m. PDT, although they did not confirm the hiring. However, a source close to the team told The Associated Press that Capers would be the coach.
