America’s Cup Protest
An international yacht racing jury will meet Saturday to decide a protest that could disqualify Japan’s newest America’s Cup boat before it arrives in San Diego.
Japan’s Nippon Challenge on Thursday maintained it did not break any rules by making modifications to its America’s Cup yacht, JPN-30.
But in a protest lodged Tuesday, Team New Zealand claimed Nippon has altered JPN-30 so much that it is a new yacht.
