The up-and-down Bulldogs (3-9, 5-11) hit four 3-pointers in the second quarter, building a 25-14 halftime edge that held up after intermission.

Scott Edinger had 18 points for Colfax and Nathan Hansen 14, while Michael Averyt had 19 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots for Deer Park (1-11, 3-12).

Chevy Mathews scored 17 points and George Petticrew 16 for Lakeside, while the NEA’s second-leading scorer, Freeman’s Travis Goldsmith, had 20.

NEA top scorer Jeremy Landram led Chewelah with 22 points. Teammate Greg Belzer added 19 points and 13 rebounds. Chris Randles led Newport (6-6, 9-7) with 18 points and Raymond Walden had 16.

The Chargers (7-5, 7-8) broke to a 12-2 first-period lead, but had to hold off a fourth-period rally by St. Michael’s (2-10, 4-11), which scored 28 points in the final quarter.

Brian Coe scored 21 points for Springdale and made five 3-pointers. Ben Peterson had 17 points and 13 boards for the Chargers, while David Cons led SM with 19 points and Chris Argentino had 14.

Dial’s clutch performance was nearly matched by Dragon Jason Ala, who scored 12 in the fourth period and four more in OT. Ala finished with 20 and Dial with 17. St. George’s is 10-2, 11-5.
