Couple Survives Plunge Off Road

A Moscow man was hospitalized in fair condition Saturday night after crashing south of White Bird Hill.

Bruce L. Brooks, 75, fell asleep while driving southbound on a curve on U.S. 95., three miles north of the community of White Bird.

According to the Idaho State Police, Brooks’ 1991 four-door Nissan car crossed the center line. It crashed through the guardrail, ripping out 60 feet, according to the ISP. The car plowed 40 feet down the embankment.

Brooks’ wife, Cecile Brooks, 71, suffered minor injuries. She was treated at and released.
