Williams Leads Tourney

Mark Williams of Beaumont, Texas, opened with a 300 game and finished with a 59-pin lead after the final round of qualifying in the PBA’s Northwest Classic.

Williams, who won the last of his six PBA titles in 1988, entered match play Sunday night with an 18-game total of 4,330. Bryan Goebel of Merriam, Kan., was second at 4,271, followed by Norm Duke of Edmond, Okla., at 4,239.
