Hall-North Friendship Has Quietly Gone South

Compiled By Staff Writer Dan Web

Fawn Hall - remember her? - is back in the news. The ex-crack addict is griping about the man she once worked for, Oliver North.

“Ollie used me,” North’s former secretary told Redbook magazine. “I was like a piece of Kleenex to him.”

Hall, who is married to Danny Sugerman, a writer who has had his own problems with crack, says North won’t return her phone calls and “is different now than when I knew him.”

Sugerman would ask North this: “Just what did my wife do to you that you can’t even return her phone calls? Your actions directly destroyed my wife’s career… and you couldn’t even pick up the phone and say, ‘I’m sorry’ or ‘Thanks.”’

An assistant to North had only this to say: “Ollie asks people to pray for Fawn during this difficult time in her life.”

Loose talk

Kevin Sorbo, star of “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys,” on the show’s jiggle quotient: “My friends call the show ‘Hercules in the Land of Cleavage.”’

And somewhere, in slo-mo, he’s jogging on the beach

David Hasselhoff turns 43 today.

Question is, does she do them all at once?

And what does supermodel Linda Evangelista do for fun? Well, besides posing for one magazine cover or another, she’s a proper party girl. “I garden, cook and play the accordion,” she says.

Ah, the seconds of the 15-minute clock are ticking

So what does Jim Carrey see as a future for him and love interest Lauren Holly? “We want to make people sick of us like Tom and Roseanne,” he says, “ram ourselves down people’s throats.”

It’s a tough town, Hollywood is

Actor Alan Young once played second stallion to a golden palomino named Ed, as in “Mr. Ed.” And he shared his memories of the real-life horse, whose name was Bamboo Harvester, with People magazine. “Ed was in show business two weeks when they changed his name and castrated him,” Young said. “Happens to many of us.”

His rhythm section was in need of a tuneup

By now you probably know that “Baywatch” star Pamela Anderson miscarried her two-month pregnancy a couple of weeks ago. What you may not know is that Anderson’s husband, Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, didn’t show up at the hospital until five hours after the event. His excuse: He’d been asleep.

She’ll still sit and watch the children play

If Fawn Hall was a name from the past (see item at left), what does that make Marianne Faithfull? The blond singer-songwriter, who both dated Mick Jagger and experienced her own problems with drugs, is set to do a one-woman show next spring in New York.
