Rapist Could Get 15 Years In Prison

From Staff And Wire Reports

A man twice convicted of raping young girls could spend up to 15 years in prison, a judge ordered Monday.

Shane McCloskey, however, will be eligible for parole after three years.

McCloskey was accused of raping a 16-year-old girl several times between July and August 1994.

Last month he pleaded guilty to one count of rape as part of a plea agreement. In exchange, three other rape charges were dismissed as well as a charge of failing to register as a sex offender, said Traci Post, Kootenai County deputy prosecutor.

McCloskey pleaded guilty to raping a 14-year-old runaway in April 1993. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, but that sentence was suspended in favor of five years probation.
