Nyrop Hired As Nic Coach
Former Gonzaga University and Kootenai High School volleyball coach Mandy Nyrop has been named head coach at North Idaho College.
Nyrop takes over for Bret Taylor, who resigned in the spring. She lives in Harrison, southeast of Coeur d’Alene, and is married to Bill Nyrop, a former National Hockey League player.
A former Washington State University player, Nyrop left Gonzaga in 1986 to move to Harrison and raise a family. She’s had two stints as head volleyball coach at Kootenai High.
NIC athletic director Jim Headley initially offered the job to Taylor’s assistant, John Jensen.
