Slip Into Something More Affordable

Silky, slip dresses are popular among the young and fit. But beware! Body-clinging styles like these should only be worn by those with the best of figures.

My designer version is by Calvin Klein, the master of minimalist dressing. Look-a-likes can be found for much, much less. Try the lingerie section of your favorite department store. That’s what I did. From slips that work as skirts to chiffon pajamas to be worn as elegant pantsets, lingerie departments offer your best bargains for evening wear.

A footnote on slip dressing: Pair barely with shoes that don’t overwhelm. Pumps with this scanty dress will look clunky. Try thin strappy sandals or slingbacks.
