Your Images Are Strikingly Vivid

Nancy Bloom

Dear Nancy: I am thinking about going into real estate. I asked for a dream showing how this career would be for me. What do you think? - David

I am standing in an apple orchard and all the trees are heavy with huge, ripe, beautiful apples. I look again and see that all the apple trees have been cut down and the orchard is filled with stumps.

Dear David: Your dream is striking because of the contrasting pictures - the flourishing orchard and the stumps. As a symbol for a career, the orchard is quite appropriate for it depicts the fruits of your labor. This scene tells me that you will be successful with the thriving trees and the abundance of fruit. The next scene shows all the trees cut down. This is a sign that this particular career choice, although highly successful, may not last long. The fact that the trees were eliminated, not just dormant, shows that you may choose another path, another career, later.

Dear Nancy: I am separated from my husband and I asked for a dream showing me what it would be like if we stayed married. Can you help me understand it? - Laura Lea

My husband and I were having dinner with a very exotic, gorgeous woman. She was dressed in many layers of fine clothing and had on lots of jewelry. When the evening was over, she got up to leave and presented us with a bill charging us for conversation, smiles, time spent, etc. We paid her but I got angry having to pay her for things that should be free. I told my husband that I didn’t want to do this anymore because our relationship with the woman wasn’t real.

Dear Laura Lea: This dream shows that your relationship with your husband looks good on the surface, represented by the beautifully clad woman. She demands payment, a high cost for her time. This shows that the relationship is not genuine, and instead of being easy and free-flowing, the dream shows that it takes a lot of energy, shown as money, to keep it going.

I feel this dream gives you much to reflect on. I would ask, “What would my husband and I have to do to have a genuine relationship?” and “Is this possible?”

Dear Nancy: I asked for a dream to show what I should be concentrating on this year. Can you give me some insights on this dream? - Marilyn

My friend and I are in a jewelry shop. She tries on a ring, takes it off and tells me to try it on. I put it on and see that it has a huge, faceted stone with two small stones set in the corner. My friend insists teasingly that it is a real diamond, but I know it is fake. I see the price is $571 and ask her if she is going to buy it. She says no, she doesn’t need it. I realize that no one would really need a ring like that because it is merely ornamental. I take it off and put it in its box.

Dear Marilyn: I find this dream quite revealing of your path this next year. The ring is a symbol of eternity, promise and the ring of truth. Your friend is testing your ability to see the truth. Are you planning to make a major commitment this year? You may receive an offer to “try on” a new job, marriage or partnership of some kind. I think this dream shows that you know the true from the false and that you are going to be working on your discernment and ability to choose what is real and has value in your life. You may choose not to make this commitment but your powers of discernment will help guide you in your search for truth.
