Post Falls Man Threatened

From Staff Reports

A 35-year-old Post Falls man told police a man with a gun threw gasoline on him and threatened to light him on fire Wednesday morning.

Wilmer Lundeen Jr. said he was sleeping in his mobile home south of Pole Line Road on Highway 41 when he was awakened by a knock on the door about 12:05 a.m.

He answered the door and was met by a masked man with a rifle, according to a Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department report.

The suspect led Lundeen into the driveway and put a pop can filled with gasoline in Lundeen’s hand. The man then tipped Lundeen’s hand, causing him to spill the liquid on his crotch.

Lundeen began running back toward his home when the suspect flashed a lighter at him, according to the sheriff’s report. When Lundeen ran into the house, the suspect left.

Sheriff’s deputies found an envelope on Lundeen’s doorstep with threatening notes written on it.

No one had been arrested in connection with the assault as of Wednesday evening, sheriff’s officials said.
