Spokanite Arrested; Aryan Fliers Found

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 25-year-old Spokane man was arrested Saturday afternoon after police stopped his car and found a shotgun, explosive devices and Aryan Nations literature.

Richard W. Ruston, 1711 E. Ross Court, was arrested on an outstanding warrant in addition to charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and explosives, police said.

Police stopped the car about 5 p.m. at Northwest Boulevard and Maple in Spokane on a traffic stop. Police confiscated a black powder rifle, knives, two fuses and two rolls of safety fuse found in the car.

A passenger was questioned but not arrested, police said. Police found Aryan Nations literature in the car and a membership application signed by the 20-yearold passenger.

Ruston was released from jail on bond Saturday night.
