Stabbing Victim In Satisfactory Condition
The victim in a north Spokane stabbing was listed in satisfactory condition at Holy Family Hospital late Tuesday.
Martin K. Yarbarough, 34, was assaulted by two men about 3:30 p.m. Monday behind a house at 118 E. Sanson. He suffered about 20 stab wounds on his back, witnesses said.
Yarbarough, who was intoxicated at the time of the attack, had trouble remembering what happened when police questioned him at the hospital Tuesday morning, Detective Don Giese said.
“All of them had been drinking. At least that’s the information we have at this time,” Giese said.
The victim was able to identify the two men who stabbed him, police said. They have not been found and their names have not been made public.
Before the attack, the men left the East Sanson house together and got into a car parked behind it. A few minutes later one of the men knocked on the back door. When the homeowner answered the door, the bleeding man stumbled into the house and collapsed, police said.
None of the men live at the house, but one of the two suspects knew the owner, Giese said. Police believe the men got into some type of argument which sparked the assault, but do not have a clear motive.
