Minnesota Studies Deal

Compiled From Wire Services

Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor might be interested in buying the Winnipeg Jets now that it appears the state could purchase a share of the NHL team.

Taylor’s lease agreement at the Target Center gives him the first right to purchase an NHL franchise if it plays in the downtown arena occupied by the Wolves. Taylor said he originally had no interest in buying the Jets because of their $65 million asking price, but if the state puts up about $20 million to buy part of the team, Taylor said the price could be right for him to become a majority owner.
