Compiled From Wire Services

Leftist guerrillas kidnapped two journalists and three government officials Monday in southeastern Colombia, police said.

The kidnappings took place in Riofrio, a town 180 miles southeast of the capital, Bogota. The five are members of a regional peace commission that had gone to the area to receive a rebel statement.

The journalists were Alvaro Mina of national Radio Caracol, and Miguel Plata, an employee of a local television station in Cali. Diego Henao, the mayor of the nearby town of Corinto, his government secretary and a police inspector also were abducted.
