Charles Ainley
Spokane
Service for Charles H. Ainley, 66, is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Ainley, who was born in Mexico, died Monday.
He graduated from Whitworth College in 1951 and received his master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Idaho.
He taught mathematics at Lewis and Clark High School, Spokane Community College, Whitworth College and was mathematics department chair at Spokane Falls Community College from 1964 to 1978.
He was a member of Life Center Foursquare Church.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Virginia Ainley; three sons, Greg Ainley of Delta Junction, Alaska, David Ainley of Spokane, and Warren Ainley of Othello, Wash.; his mother, Vera Ainley of Duarte, Calif.; three brothers, William Ainley of Grayland, Wash., Robert Ainley of Santa Ana, Calif., and Ben Ainley of Fresno, Calif.; one sister, Bette Grier of Delta Junction; and seven grandchildren.

Dorothea Dunning
Post Falls
Graveside service for Dorothea E. Dunning, 95, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at White Haven Memorial Park in New York. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Dunning, a homemaker, died May 10.
She was born in Rochester, N.Y., and had moved to Post Falls in 1984.
She was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ.
Her husband, Walter Dunning, preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Dunning of Coeur d’Alene and Edward Dunning of Valdez, Alaska; three sisters, Margaret Ash, Martha Manzler and Louise Dude, all of New York; seven grandchildren, 14 greatgrandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
Glen Martin
Spokane
Service for Glen B. Martin, 83, is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pines Cemetery.
Mr. Martin, who was born in Deadwood, S.D., died Monday.
He had lived in Spokane for 54 years and retired from Burlington Northern Railroad in 1975.
He belonged to the Benefit Association of Railroad Employees.
His wife, Valetta, died in 1987.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Thomas and Betty Carey, both of Spokane; one sister, Margaret Pence of Spokane; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Margaret ‘Margo’ Woods
Loon Lake, Wash.
Memorial service for Margaret V. “Margo” Woods, 61, is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Bear Lake County Park. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of cremation.
Mrs. Woods, a self-employed beautician, died Monday.
She was born in Chester, Mont.
She had lived in Loon Lake for 13 years and owned a beauty shop.
She is survived by her husband, John Woods; one son, Jeff Woods of Republic, Wash.; two daughters, Jenne Watkins of Jump Off Joe, Wash., and Patti Lea Erickson of Klamath Falls, Ore.; one sister, Shirley Lybeck of Chester, Mont.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Myrtle Therien
Sandpoint
Memorial service for Myrtle May Therien, 76, will be held at a later date. Coffelt Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Therien, who died Saturday, was born in Cabinet, Idaho.
She graduated from Clark Fork (Idaho) High School and from Eastern Washington University.
She served in the Women’s Army Corps during the Korean War.
Mrs. Therien taught school in Sandpoint, Priest River, Clark Fork and Kootenai, Idaho, before retiring in 1980.
She collected rocks for making turtle pictures and was known for her collection of turtles.
She is survived by one son, Chris Therien of Clark Fork; five sisters, Elnora Rojan of Sandpoint, Doris Murrietta of New Mexico, Henrietta VanStone of Spokane, Elaine Loftin of Junction City, Ore., and Violet Thornton of Clark Fork; four grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.
Dorothy Maxey
Spokane
Service for Dorothy I. Maxey, 84, is set for 10 a.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial will be at Pines Cemetery.
Mrs. Maxey, who was born in Butler Township, Ill., died Tuesday.
She had worked at Fairchild Air Force Base as a medical receptionist for more than 25 years and retired in 1974.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, the Eagles Auxiliary and the Lutheran Church.
Her husband, Fred Maxey, died in 1978.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Newland of Laurel, Md., and Dale and Don Newland, both of Spokane; one daughter, Katherine Gill of Spokane; two sisters, Leila Maxey of Nevada and Beulah Dunaway of Minnesota; six grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.

Dale Rodgers

Graveside service for Dale F. Rodgers, 78, was held Wednesday at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Rodgers died Sunday.
He was born in Colfax, Wash.
He retired in 1978 from Eastern Washington University, where he had worked as a custodian.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Virginia Rodgers; three sons, William and John Rodgers, both of Colfax, and Dale Rodgers of West Richland, Wash.; three daughters, Collein Mick of Libby, Mont., Paula Childs of Airway Heights and Mary Reed of Cheney; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Alice Sprowls
Spokane
Graveside service for Alice C. Sprowls, 97, was held Wednesday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mrs. Sprowls, who was born in Washington, Pa., died Tuesday.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Church of Christ Scientist.
Her husband, Jesse Sprowls, died in 1966. She moved to Spokane in 1976.
She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Johnson of Spokane and Frances Rowland of Fullerton, Calif.; six grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren.

Kathryn Semingson
Pullman
Service for Kathryn Marie Semingson, 29, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Concordian Lutheran Church in Pullman with burial to follow at Pullman City Cemetery. Kimball Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Miss Semingson died Monday at home from chronic kidney disease.
She was born in Pullman and graduated from Pullman High School.
She attended Washington State University for two years and sang in the University Chorus.
She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Semingson of Pullman; her father, Eugene Semingson of Pullman; two brothers, Jon and Jeff Semingson, both of Pullman; and her grandparents, Velma Semingson of Haines, Ore., and Trent and Gladys Congdon of Pullman.

Ella Davis

No service will be held for Ella K. Davis, 82, at her request.
Mrs. Davis, who was born and raised in Ritzville, Wash., died Saturday.
She graduated from Ritzville High School and had worked in Ritzville as a dental technician.
She and her husband moved to Republic in 1948.
She was a member of the Republic Rebekah Lodge, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Lutheran Church and the Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Oliver, of Republic; one daughter, Jayne Davis of Republic; and one grandchild.

Esther Jewett
Pinehurst, Idaho
Service for Esther V. Jewett, 95, is set for 10 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Pinehurst. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Jewett died Monday.
She was born in Cedar Point, Idaho.
She moved from Idaho Falls to the Pinehurst area in 1943.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Pinehurst Senior Citizens.
Her husband, Ervin, died in 1970.
Survivors include three grandsons, William and James Jewett, both of Spokane, and Raymond Jewett of Moore, Idaho; and eight greatgrandchildren.
Erie Baldridge
Stevensville, Mont.
Service for Erie J. Baldridge, a former Potlatch, Idaho, resident, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Whitesitt Funeral Home in Stevensville. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Potlatch Cemetery.
Mrs. Baldridge died Tuesday in Stevensville, where she had lived for two years.
She was born in Loyal, Okla.
She and her husband, Archie Baldridge, had lived in Potlatch for 53 years. He died in 1982.
She was a cook at the Elks Lodge and Nobby Inn in Moscow.
She was a member of the Senior Citizens of Potlatch.
Mrs. Baldridge is survived by one son, Gary Baldridge of Onaway, Idaho; two daughters, Janice Willis of Henderson, Nev., and Vivienne Depee of Stevensville; 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two greatgreat-grandchildren.
William Willard
Spokane
Service is planned for William A. “Bill” Willard, 90, at 2 p.m. today at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Salina, Pa., Mr. Willard died Monday.
A resident of Spokane for 87 years, he had worked as a paper salesman.
He was a member of the Spokane Fly Fishers Club, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, and the Spokane Gun Club.
His wife, Elsie Willard, died in 1994.
He is survived by one brother, Francis Willard of Spokane; and two sisters, Grace Ehmke of Spokane and Kathryn Brown of Bellingham.

Orville Nelms

Graveside service for Orville E. Nelms, 93, is planned for 11 a.m. today at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Nelms, who was born in Rochelle, Ill., died Sunday.
An 85-year Spokane resident, he had worked for the city of Spokane and Spokane Transit Authority for 30 years. He drove streetcars and then buses.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge No. 2.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Nelms; three daughters, Delores Erickson of Spokane, Shirley Pierson of Mount Vernon, Wash., and Patricia Williamson of Concord, Calif.; eight grandchildren and several greatgrandchildren.

Velma Baiar
Priest Lake, Idaho
Graveside service for Velma Baiar, 72, is set for 2 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Cemetery in Plummer, Idaho. YatesHodge Funeral Home in St. Maries is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Baiar, who was born in Plummer, died Monday.
She received her nurse’s certificate from Deaconess School of Nursing in Spokane and served as an Army nurse at Madigan Hospital at Fort Lewis, Wash., during World War II.
She and her husband, Carl, settled in Priest River, Idaho. He died in 1984.
Mrs. Baiar enjoyed reading and gardening.
She was a member of the Priest Lake Community Church.
She is survived by two brothers, Clair Heriford of Plummer and Bob Heriford of Littleton, Colo.; and one sister, Virginia Allen of Spokane.
William Kellogg Spokane
Service for William E. “Bill” Kellogg, 84, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
Mr. Kellogg, a 65-year Spokane resident, died Sunday.
He was born in Rudyard, Mont., and he moved to Spokane when he was young.
He and his wife, Carmen, had lived in Spokane, Chattaroy and Mead. She died in 1985.
Mr. Kellogg worked for Central Concrete Co. of Spokane for 45 years, retiring as vice president.
He is survived by one son, Dennis Kellogg of Spokane; two daughters, Judy Kellogg of Stanford, Mont., and Jenny Shea of Newport, Wash.; one brother, Edward Kellogg of Sun City, Ariz.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
