Larry Holmes, who said a cheerful and dignified goodbye after his gallant and close effort April 8 against WBC heavyweight champion Oliver McCall, wants to fight again.

“I want to go out a winner, one fight, one win,” the 45-year-old former heavyweight champion said.

The man with the offer is Yakima’s Joe Hipp, ranked No. 3 by the International Boxing Federation. Holmes said the fight, if made, would probably be in Hipp’s home state, in September.
