Their Love Is Real, But Some Accessories Aren’t

Loose talk

Michael Bolton, to a parking valet who tapped him on the shoulder (according to Bone magazine): “Don’t you dare touch me. I’m a star.”

Pamela Anderson is just an old-fashioned girl after all.

The “Baywatch” star is so hooked on her hubby of three months, Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, that she’s decided to take his name.

“It’s not Anderson anymore,” she tells TV Guide. “Pamela Lee everywhere.”

Adds Anderson, er, Lee: “Here I meet this person, and we get engaged the first night we’re together. Four days later, we’re married. And it’s the best thing I’ve ever done in my whole life. I can’t wait to have babies. We want to have children right away.”

As for her image, she says: “Everyone says I’m plastic from head to toe. Can’t stand next to a radiator or I’ll melt. I had (breast) implants. But so has every single person in Los Angeles. These are things that people don’t realize.”

She’s certainly spent her share of time in L.A.

Joan Collins turns 62 today.

Guess you could call that sleepless in Soho

Rounding out a week of the “Late Show” in London, David Letterman welcomed author-in-hiding Salman Rushdie on Friday. After he left, Letterman asked guest Meg Ryan: “Do you want to do something later, you, me and Salman? Go back to the room and pull the blinds down and hide under the bed?”

Some people can’t leave well enough alone

If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again, Michael Bolton told University of Connecticut grads in a commencement speech Saturday. Said the selfstyled soul singer: “The first record I recorded for (CBS) arrived with my name spelled Michael Bolotkin on the label, with the wrong version of the wrong song.”

He was just doing his graduation exercises

As is his custom, actor Jack Palance let his triceps do the talking during the Roger Williams University (R.I.) commencement, dropping to the floor for a few one-armed pushups. Several grads, as they crossed the stage to get their diplomas, did the same.

Where just about anyone can grow up to be senator

Sen. Alfonse D’Amato, rejected as a speaker at his son’s law school graduation after he mocked Judge Lance Ito, instead published an open letter that read: “Had I had the opportunity to speak, I would have told each and every one of your classmates, as I have always told you, to never give up. To keep believing in the American dream.”

Mr. Burns could not be reached for comment

Forget O.J. Western Pacific Airlines has unveiled a jet painted in honor of TV’s other Simpsons, with Lisa and Maggie near the nose, Homer and Bart just behind the wings and Marge’s blue bouffant stretching up the tail.
