Apple Cup To Be Shown

Steve Bergum Staff Writer

The Apple Cup football game will be televised on a closed-circuit basis - not only in Pullman, but at three branch campuses in the state.

A source within the Washington State athletic department said Spokane will be among the four sites that receive the closed-circuit telecast of the annual football game between the Cougars and Washington. The 12:30 p.m. game, to be played Nov. 18 in Seattle, will also be shown at branch campuses in Vancouver and the Tri-Cities.

Details on locations of the telecasts and ticket prices have yet to be finalized. An announcement is expected today.

WSU petitioned the NCAA for the closed-circuit rights as NCAA sanctions limit Washington to four television appearances this year. The Huskies have already appeared on ABC four times this fall.

WSU will incur all production costs, according to the source.
