Two Arrested After Meth Raid In Kellogg

From Staff And Wire Reports

Shoshone County police searched a Kellogg home Sunday morning, seizing what they believe to be methamphetamine, scales and plastic baggies.

John J. King, 31, was arrested for alleged sale and possession of controlled substances. Also arrested was 37-year-old Robert L. Smiley, for allegedly frequenting a place of narcotics use. King was booked into the Shoshone County Jail.

When members of the Shoshone County Multi-Agency Task Force searched the home at 10:30 a.m., they found the white powder on the counters and hidden in the home, said assistant coordinator Steve Berg. He couldn’t say exactly how much of the powder was found, because it hadn’t all been weighed yet.

Methamphetamine, also known as “crank,” is a stimulant that can be snorted or smoked. Berg said possession of any amount of it is a felony.

The task force is made up of officers from the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Department and police departments from Wallace, Kellogg, Osburn and Pinehurst. , DataTimes MEMO: Cut in Spokane edition
