Ex-Post Falls Star Honored

The honors keep coming for former Post Falls High School track standout Ian Waltz.

Waltz, attending Washington State on scholarship, was honored as an All-American by Track and Field News. Earlier this summer, he was named by Gatorade as the top prep track athlete in Idaho.

Waltz, who collected state titles last spring in the shot put and discus, ranked No. 1 in the nation among high school athletes in the discus (203 feet, 9 inches) and was 11th in the shot (a personal best 63-0).

Saturday’s State AAA girls’ soccer match with Kamiakin at Mead will start at 11 a.m. while the Kamiakin-Central Valley AAA football playoff in Albi Stadium has been moved back to 1:30 p.m.
