Group Wants Scrutiny Of Greyhound Park
Members of the Greyhound Action Committee, an animal rights group, will ask the Post Falls City Council tonight to keep a close eye on the Coeur d’Alene Greyhound Park.
“We’re not excited about any kind of dog racing,” said Rebecca Line, a member of the group. Although the dog track is closing, some races might still be scheduled so the track is eligible to continue simulcast racing over video monitors.
In other business at the regular council meeting tonight, the council will hold a public hearing on annexing 37 acres of city property that is part of Q’Emilin Park.
In addition, a seven-acre annexation for homes near Pleasantview is on the agenda.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the City Council chambers.
