Colfax, Deer Park Advance In State A

Colfax and Deer Park advanced to the quarterfinals of the State A volleyball tournament Friday in Chelan, where continue play this morning at 10.

Colfax lost its first match, falling 17-15, 15-5 to Woodland. The Bulldogs then beat Lakewood (15-17, 15-6, 15-3) and Warden (15-7, 16-14).

Colfax plays LaCenter today.

Deer Park also left its pool as the second seed, advancing to face Meridian after winning two of three Friday. The Stags handled Nooksack Valley 10-15, 15-7, 15-9 before losing to Ridgley (15-17, 15-12, 15-11) and beating Seattle Christian (15-5, 15-3).

At Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, East Valley was knocked out of the State AA playoffs after going 1-2 in its pool.
