Distraught Man Kills Wife, 2 Children, Self

Associated Press

A domestic dispute apparently led a father to kill his wife and two children with a semiautomatic handgun, then shoot himself in the head, authorities and witnesses said.

The couple and their 5-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter were found shot to death outside a neighbor’s apartment Sunday evening, police spokesman Elliott Woodall said.

The parents were identified as Glen Fernandez, 29, and his 25-year-old wife, Sabrina. The children were also named Glen and Sabrina, ages 5 and 6, respectively.

Apartment manager Ross Oversby, who called Glen Fernandez his best friend, said Fernandez called him Sunday and was hysterical because his wife wanted to leave him.

“He said he couldn’t live without the kids,” Oversby said.

Oversby said he later talked with Sabrina Fernandez, who was in a state of panic.

“She told me he would kill himself or kill them all,” Oversby said.

Another neighbor told police the elder Sabrina had told her earlier Sunday she was angry because she felt her husband was having an affair.
