Maddux Golden, Again

Greg Maddux of the Atlanta Braves won his sixth straight Gold Glove award, moving into second place for the most won by a pitcher in the N.L.

First-time winners were Florida catcher Charles Johnson, San Diego third baseman Ken Caminiti, Los Angeles outfielder Raul Mondesi and Padres outfielder Steve Finley.

Atlanta outfielder Marquis Grissom won his third consecutive Gold Glove, and Chicago Cubs first baseman Mark Grace won for the third time in four seasons.

Second baseman Craig Biggio, who played for Houston and became a free agent, won his second straight award, as did Cincinnati shortstop Barry Larkin.
