Exercise Facility Serves Ms Patients

Joe Ehrbar Correspondent

Spokane now has its very own Jimmie Huega Center Exercise Facility.

The new facility, designed for people impaired by multiple sclerosis is at the Spokane Youth Sports Indoor Activity Center, 3014 E. 55th.

Founder Jimmy Huega will be present at the grand opening at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Huega, an Olympic bronze medal skier, opened his first center in 1983 in Avon, Colo. He was diagnosed with MS, a progressive disease of the central nervous system, in 1970, when he was 26 years old.

Huega has dedicated his life to reaching out to MS patients by opening several centers across the country.

Participants monitor and improve their physical condition through a host of fitness programs.
