Post Falls Senior Center Wins Food Service Award

The Post Falls Senior Center recently received the Award for Excellence by Panhandle Health District I for food service sanitation.

This award is given to food-service establishments that meet and maintain certain standards, including employee training, food service, construction requirements and high inspection scores.

Tanna Jean Day, a 16-year-old junior at Coeur d’Alene High School, had a poem published in “Tomorrow Never Knows,” a compilation of works by the National Library of Poetry.

“Wishful Thinking” is the name of her poem. She has been writing poetry since the fourth grade.

Day, daughter of Steve and Kathy Day of Hayden Lake, carries a 4.0 grade-point average and is a member of the the school’s varsity tennis team.

Blythe Jacobs, a Post Falls resident, was selected as a 1996 Ujena International/Regional Calendar Girl at Swimwear Illustrated’s 10th annual Bikini Jam and Cover Model Search.

Jacobs competed with more than 200 contestants from all over the world in a nine-day competition. Contestants were judged on beauty and poise, fitness and coordination.

Jacobs was also selected to compete in December’s 1995 Miss Hawaiian Tropic International, United States Finals, in Oahu.

Jerry Jaeger, a “Cougar Dad,” was a finalist in the Washington State University Dad of the Year event.
