New faces:

Robert Simpson has been appointed vice president and manager of Idaho Trust Co. Simpson has 15 years of experience in trust banking as vice president and senior trust officer with Seafirst Bank.

William Wermager, a former national training manager for American Express Securities Services, was named a personal financial advisor with the Spokane office of American Express Financial Advisors Inc.

Julie Prafke is the new Washington board director for Nampa, Idaho-based United Heritage Mutual Life Insurance Co. Prafke is the owner and president of Humanix Personnel Services.

Zak Designs Inc. has hired Matt Gurthet as central regional manager for its mass market division. Gurthet is responsible for managing the sales activities and accounts in the Midwest and central regions of the United States.

Christopher Elg, who has been a New York State Police officer for 10 years, is the new chief of police for the city of Medical Lake. Elg received a bachelor’s degree in police science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City and is completing a master’s degree in public administration from John Jay.

Randy Duckworth a graduate of the Seattle University School of Law, has joined USA Dry Pea & Lentil Council as director of marketing. Prior to law school, Duckworth worked as sales engineer for a company that sold computer-controlled machining equipment.

Windermere Real Estate’s Spokane-North Wall Street office has added four sales associates to its staff:

Don Teigen has practiced real estate since 1986, working most recently with the Cunningham Group in Spokane.

Dave Stanicar has three years of real estate experience with Crowley Realty. Stanicar previously worked for Trans World Airlines and also served in the Air Force for 20 years.

Vivian Cranston, new to real estate, has worked as a marketing coordinator for the past year with R.W. Robideaux & Co.

Brent Odegaard, also new to real estate, is a recent graduate of Eastern Washington University.

New additions to the staff of Windermere Real Estate’s Spokane-Manito office include:

Kevin Boldt, who has been in real estate since 1992, most recently working as a sales manager and broker of Renaissance Capital Corp.

Sally Guffy, who has worked with Coldwell Banker Grand for one year.

Jeff Valley, whose previous experience includes work with Tomlinson Black NorthTown and American Mortgage.

Ron West, new to real estate, has joined Windermere Real Estate’s Kettle Falls office. West most recently worked with Puget Sound Truck Lines.

Windermere Real Estate’s Spokane-East Sprague office has added two people to its staff:

Michael Biehl, associate broker, has practiced real estate for two years, most recently with Tomlinson Valley Inc.

Susan Wentz, new to real estate, worked with Trentwood Gifts for the past six years.

Dana Hansen, new to real estate, has joined Windermere Real Estate’s Spokane-Maple Street office. Hansen worked as a sales person with Nordstrom for the past six years.

Moving up:

Natalie Hammack, who has 17 years of insurance experience as an independent agent and customer service representative, and Don Saetre, who previously worked in the research department for SeaFirst Bankcard Services, have been promoted to personal lines underwriter for Trinity Universal Insurance Co. They have been underwriter trainees since January 1995.

Zak Designs Inc. has promoted the following people:

Laurie Greer, an executive assistant to the president, was promoted to marketing coordinator. Greer is responsible for developing trade marketing material for use by licensors, as well as for Zak Designs’ national and international sales divisions.

Kevin McNeal was promoted to national sales manager for the gift/ department store division. McNeal will now have increased responsibility for key gift and department store accounts across the country, as well as continued responsibility for sales rep training and support.

Ron Fox, business service manager for Key Bank’s Eastern Washington, Small Business Markets Division, was promoted to vice president. Fox will conduct small business development and lending in partnership with 14 branches in south-central and southeastern Washington.

Starting up:

Teresa Herriman and Don Adair have formed Herriman/Adair, a Spokane company specializing in the production of computer-based, interactive multimedia presentations. Herriman formerly worked at Cowles Publishing Co. as a research analyst and information specialist for The Spokesman-Review. Adair was selfemployed as a marketing and advertising consultant and free-lance writer.

Transactions:

Inland Pacific Engineering Co. has been sold to five of its current employees. Previous owners Richard Mason and Jim Frank said the new owners are Jim Frame, Bruce Howard, Steve Soltys, Todd Whipple, and Mike Yake. Mason will remain with the firm as president. Inland Pacific Engineering is a local firm providing surveying, planning, civil engineering, project management, construction inspection and traffic engineering.

Time To Travel has joined Carlson Wagonlit Travel as an associate. Carlson Wagonlit Travel is one of the world’s largest business and leisure travel companies. Certifications:

Ronald Moffitt of Northwest Farm Credit Services in Spokane has been awarded the Real Property Review Appraiser (RPRA) designation by the American Society of Farm Manager and Rural Appraisers. Moffitt earned the designation by meeting requirements in experience and education, as well as passing oral and written examinations.
