Outdoor Trash Burning Begins Friday

From Staff And Wire Reports

Burning season will begin on Friday in Coeur d’Alene, with the required burn permits available for $2 at the Coeur d’Alene Fire Department, 320 Foster Ave.

Items legal to burn are organic waste, such as dry pine needles, lawn clippings, garden waste, leaves and tree limbs.

Items that cannot be burned are any plastic or rubber products, paint and chemical containers, household garbage, fiberglass, carpeting, furniture, stumps, and non-combustible or fire rated material.

Burning will only be allowed on air quality “green days” during daylight hours and permits are subject to certain requirements. Fires should be attended at all times and a hose should be connected to a water supply nearby. The permits are not approved for commercial logging debris.
