Dollar Caught In Middle
The dollar slipped Tuesday as investors shied away from the politically troubled French franc and moved to the German mark and Swiss franc, weakening the greenback against major currencies.
The dollar dipped against the Japanese yen when traders sensed that the Group of Seven industrial nations were satisfied with the dollar’s position. Timidness ahead of August U.S. trade deficit figures prevented any wide swings.
