70 Feared Dead In Sinking Of Indian Ferry

At least 26 people drowned and 44 were reported missing Thursday when a ferry sank in an inlet in eastern India, news reports said.

Divers fished 26 bodies from the ferry after it sank in the Buriganga River at the mouth of the Bay of Bengal, United News of India news agency reported, quoting unnamed officials.

It said all the 70 passengers were feared drowned.
