Boulder Rolls Down Mountain, Crushes Home

Compiled From Wire Services

A boulder loosened by rains rolled down a mountain and crushed a peasant home, killing all five members of a family inside, police said Thursday.

They said it happened Tuesday in the village of El Chingo, 100 miles south of the capital, Tegucigalpa.

Police said the boulder was about 30 yards long and 10 yards wide - bigger than the metal-roofed shack where the family lived.

The victims were Tomas Espinal, 35; his wife, Juana Ramirez Ordonez, 26; and their children Andrea, 4, Hilda, 3, and Roberto Antonio, 6 months old.
