Stricker In Lead
Steve Stricker shot a bogey-free 67 and held a two-stroke lead over Glen Day, who also had a 67, after two rounds of the Buick Challenge.
Stricker, a three-year PGA Tour pro in search of his first victory, played in the morning when the wind was down and made four of his five birdies on his back nine. He had an 11-under-par 133 total for two trips around the Mountain View Golf Course at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga.
Kirk Triplett, formerly of Pullman, shot a 66 for a 137 total. Also, Bill Porter of Quincy, Wash., shot a 76 for a 141 total. Porter shot a 65 in the first round to lead the tournament.
Gail Graham shot a 4-under-par 68 for a 135 two-day total and took a one-stroke lead over first-round leader Hiromi Kobayashi halfway through the inaugural LPGA Fieldcrest Cannon Classic at Cornelius, N.C.
Rathdrum, Idaho’s Tracy Hanson shot a 72 for a 141 and Clarkston’s Robin Walton shot a 70 for a 143.
