Hamas Leaflet Calls For More Attacks

Stung by a tough crackdown by Palestinian and Israeli security forces, the militant Islamic group Hamas Tuesday ordered a resumption of suicide attacks against Israel.

The call in a leaflet signed by the armed wing of Hamas, the Iz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, reflected the climate of confrontation between the Palestinian Authority and its militant opponents that has been aggravated in recent days by violent incidents in the West Bank between Palestinians and the authority’s police.

The Israelis have blown up the family homes of suicide bombers, blockaded the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and closed down several colleges in the West Bank said to be centers of Hamas activity.
