St. Maries Splits Twinbill
St. Maries’ Steve Raebel went 5 for 6, drove in four runs and scored four more to help the Lumberjacks to a doubleheader split against Kettle Falls in a non-league baseball game at St. Maries.
The Bulldogs won the first game 13-4 before St. Maries won the second 8-3.
In the second game, St. Maries’ Jason Holdahl struck out seven, walked seven and gave up just one hit in four innings of work.
Softball
In an Intermountain League doubleheader, Lakeland beat visiting Moscow 10-8 before the Bears rallied for a 6-3 win in the nightcap.
Jessica McBride’s third-inning homer keyed Lakeland. She drove in two runs in the game. Lakeland’s Jacque Foster had an RBI triple and scored two runs.
In the second game, Moscow took advantage of four walks and two hit batsmen for run production. Moscow pitcher Tawnee Goetz gave up just two hits in the contest.
In a non-league game at St. Maries, Kettle Falls swept St. Maries, 8-4 and 21-4.
Kettle Falls pitcher Rachell Kinservik struck out 10 in six innings of work in the first game. In the second, Kinservik scattered two hits and registered six strikeouts for the second win.
