Nic Celebration To Feature Peace Pole

A four-sided peace pole, with inscriptions in four languages, will be featured in a “Celebration of Life” Thursday at North Idaho College.

People representing black, red, white and yellow races will take part in the presentation, which will begin at 7 p.m. in the Bonner Room of the Student Union Building. It will be preceded by a half-hour of music.

River Reasoner of the Cherokee tribe will welcome the audience. The opening prayer will be given by Cliff SiJohn of the Coeur d’Alene tribe. A Tibetan Buddhist and Celtic storyteller will be among presenters.

The program is part of the college’s annual Popcorn Forum. The event is free and open to the public.
