5,000 Boy Scouts Expected At Farragut

More than 5,000 Boy Scouts are expected here Friday through Sunday for the Northwest Scouting Expo.

The event, the last major camporee of the decade, will include a mountain bike challenge course, a hiking challenge course, an air show and merit badge events.

The “Crossing Over” ceremony welcomes boys in their last year of Cub Scouts into Boy Scouts.

The public is invited to Saturday’s activities which begin at 8 a.m. Admission is free, but the evening campfire costs $2 per person. Seating at the campfire is limited and people are asked to bring flashlights.
