Make Time For ‘Necessary Space’
No contemporary art lover should miss “Necessary Space,” an exhibition of paintings by Dean-Craig Derek Eliasen on display at Eastern Washington University in Cheney.
Eliasen, one of the area’s most talented artists, has obviously unleashed his imagination to create works rich in color, scale and one-of-a-kind design. His experimentation with paint and technique manifests the freedom of an uninhibited artistic process. The result provides fertile space to let the viewer’s mind wander.
And, although nothing equals standing in the gallery and taking the paintings in firsthand, hints of Eliasen’s magic can be found at EWU’s web site. Point your browser to http://www.visual.arts.ewu.edu/ info/new.html.
This exhibit runs through May 3 at the EWU Gallery of Art in Cheney. For gallery hours, call 359-2493.
