Alexander Purchases Last Portion Of Nba Champion Rockets
Les Alexander is now the sole owner of the two-time defending NBA champion Houston Rockets.
Alexander bought the remaining 5.7 percent share of the franchise not already in his hands, boosting his ownership to 100 percent, Houston television station KRIV reported Friday.
The purchase price for the fraction formerly controlled by Austin real estate developer Gary Bradley was not disclosed.
“I love the Rockets and Gary wanted to sell. So it was a perfect fit,” Alexander told KRIV.
When Alexander bought the Rockets in July 1993, he purchased 86.3 percent from Charlie Thomas. He bought another 8 percent of the team last year from Dallas businessman Bill Esping.
