Canoes and kayaks will be featured in two upcoming area events:

May 1, “National You Can Canoe Day” festivities at Liberty Lake County Park, 3 p.m.-7 p.m. featuring 20 canoe designs available for demonstrations from REI and Mad River Canoes. Info: 328-9900.

May 11, Spokane Paddle Fair, featuring canoes and kayaks from at least seven manufacturers available for test paddling, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Liberty Lake County Park. Info: 325-9000.

May 12, whitewater canoe and kayak demo, including canoes, kayaks and inflatables, begins at 11 a.m. at Sullivan Park. Info: 325-9000.
